Since I was a teenager, I have wanted a Cadillac from one of the three years between 1959 - 1961. They are rare and typically when I see one, I get butterflies, but seeing this one rusting in this junkyard made me sad. I knew the only thing I could do would be to take photographs, so I did.
This September 2015 evening started out cloudy, so much so we couldn't even see hints of the moon. Just as the eclipse began, the sky cleared and I captured this image of the moon above a Southern California junkyard.

She played tunes on her radio, that someone sang along to.
She drank more gasoline than the owner expected.
She broke someone's heart when she was sold.
She lives on in the memories.

Last September, on the night of the solar eclipse, I was shooting down in a SoCal desert junkyard with some friends.
The clouds covered the moon right as the eclipse was happening, so I turned the camera towards the very dark Western sky and took this image while using a Streamlight Stinger flashlight.
The sky opened and the clouds lit up right as we pulled in to this Southern California desert junkyard. I'm not sure if I have ever sprinted so quickly through sand.

Light painting cars in the middle of the night is one of my favorite things.
Here in my heart,
crimson laced,
crescendos a melody line.
Rises, then falls,
increasing again,
like a tide fighting the moon.
